One of the joys of Christmas that I miss since moving away from the UK is having a Cadbury’s advent Calendar. That daily bit of tasty chocolate has long been a joy, even if the amount of plastic and card waste on the packaging is ridiculous!
This year, I’m going to make myself feel better by getting a sewing advent calendar for myself.
We’re a few months out from Christmas I know, but as advent calendars go on sale VERY early – and sell out just as fast – I thought now would be a great time to share this post, to make sure we all get the advent calendar of our dreams this holiday season!

Backstitch
Backstitch offered three advent calendar options back in 2022 (sewing gifts, fat quarter standard fabric and fat quarter Christmas fabric) but I’ve not seen a new version posted since. That said, their website is still showing quite a few quantities – and at sale pricing too! – so you could order one in and have it as a treat this year!
Backstitch are a UK based company, and I’m not sure that they will post advent calendars outside of the UK.
Caboodle Fabrics
Available now to pre-order, the 2024 advent calendar from Caboodle Fabrics comes with several options to choose from:
- Caboodle 12 is fabric only: 12 days with one meter cut length of fabric for each day
- Caboodle 24 is fabric and thread: option one is Moon thread, option two is Gutermann thread
The fabrics in this sewing advent calendar are a mix of stretch, knit and rib fabrics, in solids and prints, and are only shipped to UK addresses.
Fabric Godmother
With 24 days of sewing gifts for yourself, the Fabric Godmother advent calendar is a winner for sewists! They try to ensure it is as sustainable as possible with no excess plastic packaging. Although based in the UK, they will ship overseas, so a win for those overseas!
At the time of writing, they have no added information for their 2024 advent calendar, but you can check this page for updates!
Hemline
Known for their sewing tools and haberdashery bits, Hemline have an advent calendar that is available to buy throughout the year, so you can grab one at any point for yourself, or a sewing person in your life!
Generally it includes useful items like a stitch ripper, tape measure and thread… so it’s a great option as a sewing gift!
Kylie and The Machine
A firm favorite with home sewers, the sewing advent calendar from Kylie and The Machine comes full of luxury woven labels for you sewing projects!
They don’t have a product page on their website for 2024 (yet) but you can always check out their stockists page to see who might stock this fab advent calendar in your part of the world!
This one is top of my wish list for this year, so I’ll be racing you to get one!
1st For Fabrics
This one I discovered in a Facebook group, though I couldn’t find an active listing for 2024 sewing advent calendars. What I did find was a ‘make your own advent calendar‘ kit, which is also still on sale.
It’s another UK based option, and great for those who’d rather make one themselves at a fraction of the price.
My Sewing Box
A popular option, the advent calendar from My Sewing Box has 24 individually wrapped items, which includes fabric, haberdashery items and other sewing bits n bobs.
As the prices of sewing advent calendars can be high, they also offer a split payment option too.
If anyone has recommendations for US based sewing advent calendars – the ones we can buy with ‘gifts’ included – do let me know and I’ll update this list accordingly!
For now, I’ll leave you with this post on sewing gadgets and a selection of sewing gift ideas!
